Here's important guidance for singers that are not part of one of the curricular choir class periods during the school day. This situation is not ideal, but it is still possible to participate in the choir program with attention to these details and a mindfully-managed schedule.
At the bottom of this page is a pass for the year.
Please show it to your teachers and have a conversation about your situation.
Only come down when it is approved by your teacher. Please don’t ever take advantage of this pass and use it as an excuse to skip class.
When can you practice?
5A SCORE on Mondays and Fridays
The main practice for singers in your situation is during 5A SCORE on Fridays in the auditorium.
We also have practice during 5A SCORE on Mondays but we are missing a lot of students from class meetings and/or band practice.
For these two SCORE practices, if you are a sophomore or junior, you will be added to Mr. Gunther's SCORE class roster. If you are a freshman or senior, you will have to pack lunch and each during rehearsal. That sounds a little hectic, but it’s only twice a week and students find that it’s very manageable.
OTHER TIMES
Periods 3 and 6, during our regular choir classes in the auditorium. Come whenever you can.
These are the best times to come and practice!
Periods 2, 7 & 8 - Mr. Gunther has classes in 115 & 116. There are little practice rooms that you can use. Pull up the practice tracks on your computer. There are a couple of choir members in those classes as well.
Periods 1, 4 & other SCORE days besides the ones listed above - Mr. Gunther is sometimes available. You may also be able to practice if one of the other music teachers is willing to supervise you while you are there.
On your own: Use the practice tracks on our school website. www.woodstownsings.com
